Two businesses in Miami Lakes are participating in a fundraising drive to support cancer research: Baptist Health and Jersey Mike's Subs.
The sub shop at 15145 NW 67th Ave. and 11 other locations in South Florida are hosting a Month of Giving in March. Customers can round up their orders and make a donation at the register or through the Jersey Mike's app.
The Day of Giving is Wednesday, March 26, when 100% of sales from Jersey Mike's Subs will support research at the Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute.
The events are in conjunction with the company's Bounce Back from Cancer program, in its sixth year, with the Miami HEAT. Walking and dribbling challenges happen on Saturday, March 15. Former HEAT Captain and current Vice President of Basketball Development Udonis Haslem is scheduled to appear at one of the events at the Underline. There is lots of swag for those who participate and those who accumulate miles. That fundraising goal is $5 million. For more information go to BounceBackfromCancer.net.
