Carefree Summer Campers in Miami Lakes

      Around Miami Lakes this summer, kids of all ages are practicing golf shots, writing plays, shooting hoops and taking aim at friends during dodgeball games. 

     At the Miami Lakes Golf Club, First Tee is teaching young golfers how to putt, chip and compete in a friendly way. 

     Over on Main Street, there is no shortage of camper activity: Kids at the Miami Lakes Athletic Club are playing basketball, tennis, swimming and watching movies. At the Main Street Players, actor-campers are learning how to do stage makeup and improvise on the boards. They are also writing and performing in scenes with plots about diamond heists and a chair that comes to life. 

     Most camps in Miami Lakes run through Aug. 12.
