Dr. Frantz R. Lerebours, a physician for the Miami HEAT and Florida International University athletics, will be the next speaker at the Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce’s luncheon on Sept. 11.
During the August gathering of the business group, Sheriff candidate Ignacio Alvarez spoke about the new office.
He was the third person seeking that office to address the chamber members at a luncheon.
Like the others running for Sheriff, Alvarez described his experience in law enforcement, which included serving in Miami-Dade Police Dept’s. Miami Lakes district.
Alvarez was not successful in the primary election.
More than 40 business professionals attended, including Miami Lakes Councilman-elect Steven Herzberg.
In other chamber news, the group is planning its 24th Annual Networking Business Expo on Nov. 7 at the Miami Lakes Hotel on Main.
It is an opportunity for companies to showcase their goods and services to the community.
Exhibitors will give away items and there will be several drawings for prizes.
Complimentary light bites will be provided, too.
The monthly luncheons are also held at the hotel, at 6842 Main St. Networking begins at 11:30 a.m.
