Coast Guard Auxiliary will offer boating safety classes for students

Miami Lakes has partnered with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary to host Boating Safety Education courses. The classes will provide instruction to boaters at all levels, from the fundamentals to the advanced. Classes are taught by experienced and knowledgeable instructors committed to the highest standards of the U.S. Coast Guard.

“About Boating Safety” is a beginner boating class that provides the knowledge to obtain a Florida Boater’s I.D. Card (required for boaters born after January 1988).

Topics covered throughout the course will include Introduction to Boating, Boating Law, Boating Safety Equipment, Safe Boating, Navigation, Boating Problems, Trailering, Storing and Protecting Your Boat, and information about the Local Boating Area.

The class is $35 per person and includes a free manual and an additional class at no extra charge. Group rates are available for the class which will be held at Mary Collins Community Center, 15151 N.W. 82 Avenue.
