Nov. 22 40th Annual Main Street Festival of Lights Kick off the holiday season with Santa, elves and free, family-friendly fun. There will be face painting, writing letters to Santa and making holiday cards. Families can take photos with Santa, too. At 6:30 p.m. the lights dim until Santa turns on the Christmas decorations and brightens the neighborhood. Main Street between Northwest 67th Avenue and Bull Run Road, 3:30 p.m. - 7:30  p.m. Free.

Dec. 2 Human Trafficking Awareness Seminar Presented by the Zonta Club of Miami Lakes, Town of Miami Lakes and the State Attorney’s Office Human Trafficking Task Force. Dec. 13 Reindeer Run 5K Presented by Headquarter Toyota, run to support the Miami Lakes Veterans Families Scholarship and American Legion Post 144 at this holiday-themed 5K held on the west side of Miami Lakes and organized by the town’s Veterans Committee.
