March 20 - April 1  Education Advisory Board’s Book Drive Donate new books appropriate for kids in elementary grades. Drop books in new or good condition at Town Hall, 6601 Main St., Weekdays, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. 

March 20 Main Street Live! The Economic Development Committee and Cultural Affairs Committee, Main Street Merchants and The Graham Companies present The Future Buds Band, Reggae funk fusion/ rock music. 6710 Main St. 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. Free. 

March 21 Miami Lakes Garden Club Meeting Mary Collins Community Center, 15151 NW 82nd Ave. 10 a.m. Public is welcome. 

March 27 Spring Senior Social Enjoy a fun afternoon with the Elderly Affairs Committee at its Spring Senior Social. There will be lunch, music and door prizes at this annual event. March 29 10th Annual Cars for a Cure Car show to raise funds for cancer research at UM Sylvester, in memory of the late Vice Mayor Roberto Alonso. Main Street and side streets in downtown Miami Lakes, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Free for visitors, $25 donation per car shown. Plaques for all divisions in this open car show, clubs welcome. Music performances by Ricky Valido and Mantrap. Beer Garden, tickets are $35 presale, $40 on March 29. Cars must preregister at MLCarsforaCure.com and be in place by 10 a.m. 

April 4 Spring Fling Easter Event Join the Youth Activities Task Force for their annual Easter egg hunt (at 10:30 a.m.), music and photo booth. Dine from food trucks. Miami Lakes Veterans Park, 15151 NW 82 Ave. 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

April 8 Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce Monthly Luncheon Guest speaker to be announced. Networking starts at 11:30 a.m. followed by lunch at noon; it costs $45 for members, $55 for non-members and is held at the Miami Lakes Hotel on Main, 6842 Main St. Register at MiamiLakesChamber.com

April 10 Special Needs Advisory Board “Art Without Limits” The Special Needs Advisory Board will present “Art Without Limits” an art gallery showcasing art from members of the special needs community. Miami Lakes Town Hall, 6601 Main St. 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Free. 

April 17 Main Street Live! The Economic Development Committee and Cultural Affairs Committee, Main Street Merchants and The Graham Companies present Mantrap in an outdoor concert at 6710 Main St. 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. Free. 

April 18 “Back to Nature” Public Safety Committee’s Shredding Event The Miami Lakes Public Safety Committee will host a shredding event to help residents get rid of confidential documents safely. Miami Lakes Farmer’s Market at the corner of Bull Run Road and Meadow Walk. 9 a.m. to noon. Free. 

April 21 Prom Dress Drive by Giving Gators and ZONTA Club of Miami Lakes Bring new or gently used formal dresses, shoes and clutch purses to the groups’ booth at the Miami Lakes Farmer’s Market, to donate to high school students in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. All sizes accepted. Bull Run Road and Meadow Walk, next to Graham Park, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

April 25 Black & White Gala to benefit the ZONTA Club of Miami Lakes  Annual fundraiser featuring a DJ, dancing and a casino. Miami Lakes Hotel on Main, 6842 Main St. 6 p.m. – 11 p.m. $175; sponsorships available. For tickets and information go to ZontaMiamiLakesClub.org.
