April 6 Community Bike Ride for Autism Awareness Month. Join the Town of Miami Lakes and its Neighborhood Improvement Committee for a two-hour ride around town dedicated to raising awareness and support. Wear the symbolic blue color or decorate your ride with autism awareness ribbons and symbols. Depart from the Miami Lakes Youth Center, 6075 Miami Lakes Drive. April 7 Miami Lakes Cars for a Cure. The 8th annual Miami Lakes Cars for a Cure returns to Main Street. Organized by the Alonso Family in memory of Roberto Alonso, Sr. Money from the event benefits Alex’s Place at the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Look at vehicles from all eras, enjoy live music from Mantrap band and Ricky Valido. Admission to the beer garden is $30 for craft beers, wine and and roasted pork.
