May 2 National Day of Prayer The Town of Miami Lakes will observe the  National Day of Prayer and welcome all faiths to this event. Miami Lakes Town Hall, 6601 Main St. 9 a.m. Free. 

May 2 Mental Health Webinar hosted by Baptist Health. Presented by the Mental Health Task Force. Learn how to navigate mental health and get resources to deal with challenges. Participants can watch via Zoom by using ID: 981 1770 6722, Password is zoom. 12:30 p.m. Free.

May 4 The Zonta Club of Miami Lakes Kentucky Derby Casino Gala Join the Zonta Club of Miami Lakes for a fun night of dinner, drinks, raffles and other activities while watching the Kentucky Derby at the Miami Lakes Hotel on Main, 6842 Main St. Dress in your Kentucky Derby best. Cost is $135, get tickets at 6 p.m. - 11 p.m. 

May 7 Coffee with a Cop Grab a cup of coffee and chat with Miami-Dade Police officers from the Miami Lakes District. BB’s Bakehouse, 6731 Main St. Free. 8:30 a.m.

May 11 American Legion Post 144 monthly meeting Nominations and elections. Mary Collins Community Center, 15151 NW 82nd Ave. 10 a.m. Free.

May 11 Paint a Picture for Mom The Miami Lakes Cultural Affairs Committee and Miami Lakes Farmer’s Market are sponsoring this annual event. New Barn Road and Main Street. Sign up a child in advance,  10 a.m. - Noon. Free. 

May 11 Celebration of the Life of Bob Graham at Miami Lakes United Church of Christ, 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m., free and open to the public. Park across the street at the Miami Lakes K-8 Center School, 14250 NW 67th Ave., or watch a livestream in either the church fellowship hall or Miami Lakes Hotel on Main, inside ML Steaks + Sports, 6842 Main St.  Followed by a reception at ML Steaks + Sports, also open to the public, from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.  Guests who wish to contribute their memories of the late U.S. senator, Florida governor and Miami Laker may record them that afternoon for a living history project at the hotel, in recordings made by the Bob Graham Center for Pubic Service based at the University of Florida.

June 21 Masquerade Casino Night for Children with Special Needs. Presented by the Arc of South Florida and the Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce. Casino games, virtual auction, raffles, food and wine tastings, live music, dancing.
