Dec. 1 Teen Open Hang at The Spot. Play Nintendo Switch; foosball; table tennis, air hockey and more. 6075 Miami Lakes Drive. 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Free.

Dec. 2 Holiday Bike Ride. Join the Neighborhood Improvement Committee for its annual bike ride. Wear festive attire and adorn your ride with dazzling lights, tinsel and ornaments. Leave from Miami Lakes Town Hall, 6601 Main St. Free. 5:30 p.m. 

Dec. 6 Senior Bingo Lunch. Seniors 60+ can join the Elderly Affairs Committee for its popular bingo game, prizes and a meal. Roberto Alonso Community Center, 16500 NW 87th Ave. 11 a.m. Free.

Dec. 8 Youth Open Hang. Make friends and build gingerbread houses during this winter-themed activity for kids ages 5 - 12 at The Spot. Building materials will be provided. 6075 Miami Lakes Drive. 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Free. 

Dec. 9 Reindeer Run 5K. Join the Miami Lakes Veterans Committee and Headquarter Toyota for the annual fun run to benefit veterans causes. The race starts at Veterans Park and travels through Business Park West before returning to the park. Finishers receive a holiday-themed medal. Dec. 9 Mrs. Claus book reading. Hear holiday stories from Mrs. Claus at this Christmas-themed event presented by the Cultural Affairs Committee. Main Street Playhouse, 6812 Main St. 11:30 a.m. Free. 

Dec. 9 Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Join the Sports Hall of Fame as it welcomes the Class of 2023. Miami Lakes Optimist Park Clubhouse, 6411 NW 162nd St.  6:30 p.m. Open to the public. Free.

Dec. 11 Blasting Update with Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. Country Club of Miami, 6801 NW 186th St. 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Free.

Dec. 22 Movies in the Park. Join the Town of Miami Lakes, the Youth Activities Task Force, The Graham Companies; Memorial Healthcare System and Bella Mar Concierge Real Estate Services for “Elf,” rated PG and starring Will Ferrell. The film will be screened at Veterans Park. Santa will meet and greet at 6:30 p.m., movie starts at 7:30 p.m. Bring lawn chairs and blankets. Refreshments for sale. 15151 NW 82nd Ave. Free.

Dec. 15 Teen Open Hang. Teens ages 13 - 17 will get a shot at building a gingerbread house during this open hang for older kids at The Spot. Building materials will be provided. 6075 Miami Lakes Drive.  6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Free. 

Dec. 16 Skate Miami Lakes. Grab your skateboard, rollerblades, roller skates or scooter and come out to the monthly Skate Miami Lakes program, in conjunction with nonprofit organization SkateFree. Participants must bring their own equipment to participate. Miami Lakes Youth Center. 6075 Miami Lakes Drive.  Free. 10 a.m. 

Dec. 19 - 21 Women’s Self-Defense Course. Presented by Citizens Crime Watch of Miami-Dade with the Town of Miami Lakes. A 12-hour program includes a lecture on personal safety and crime prevention and physical skills instruction. Roberto Alonso Community Center, 16500 NW 87th Ave. Ages 14+.
