June 18 Father’s Day Fishing Tournament at Graham Dairy Lake. The annual tournament presented by the Town of Miami Lakes and the Cultural Affairs Committee. A free event for dads and kids at Graham Dairy Lake, 8100 Govenors Square Blvd. Residents will be given live bait, but must have their own fishing gear and a valid freshwater fishing license for anglers aged 16 to 64. 8 a.m.
June 18 Juneteenth Celebration To observe the end of slavery, also known as Emancipation Day, the Miami Lakes Cultural Affairs Committee will present readings; keynote speaker is Jihad "JS" Rashid, president and chief executive officer of SECTOR Public Private Partners, Inc. who advises developers and governments; and a music performance by Michael Kennedy. June 25 2nd Annual Pride Awareness Booth, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., at the Farmer’s Market, New Barn Road at Main Street, in Miami Lakes. Volunteers will distribute information on resources available for individuals and families in the LGBTQ community.
