Councilman Alex Sanchez earns master’s degree

    Miami Lakes Councilman Alex Sanchez celebrates May 11 at the campus of the University of Miami, where he earned a Master of Public Administration degree in the College of Arts & Sciences.  

    Sanchez, 42, was appointed to the council on Jan. 21, 2025. He filled the seat previously held by Josh Dieguez, who resigned from the council to run for mayor.  

     Sanchez, who works in commercial real estate, is running for election in November and is currently unopposed. He is a U.S. Navy veteran who also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Nova Southeastern University.

     His volunteer service in town has included serving on the Planning & Zoning Board, with a Town Manager Selection Committee and with the Neighborhood Improvement and Veterans committees.
