Educational World Learning Center, the newest children’s learning center in the Miami Lakes area located at 16470 N.W. 59 Ave., is hosting a grand opening celebration and Open House on Saturday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Registration is free until August 10.

The celebration will include tours of the center, a fire truck visit, bounce house, music and food. The family friendly event kicks off the Educational World Learning Center’s first year serving local children. However, owner and founder Beatriz Zahlene brings over 12 years of experience in teaching.

Zahlene was formerly a teacher and reading coach and has taught in public, charter, and private school settings. As a Reading Specialist, Zahlene set out to create a center with a love for reading and state of the art technology. Assistant director Sara Herrera brings an additional 23 years of experience in Early Childhood Education and elementary school education.

All teachers are FDLE background Level 2 screened and all staff are certified in First Aid and CPR and staff members have either Child Development Associate credential (CDA), and/or an associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in Early Childhood Education.

Educational World Learning Center cares for children beginning at age 1 up to Kindergarten and offers a free Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Program (VPK), state of the art classrooms including smart boards, bilingual education and small class sizes. The center follows the Kaplan Early Learning Company base program curriculum. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided for students as well as after school programs such as karate, ballet, and hip-hop for an additional cost.

The learning center’s mission is to capture the attention of children by motivating them in a way that they discover their abilities by doing hands-on exploration through technology, music, art, physical education, play-time and academic learning.

In addition to academics, the learning center will provide summer camps, after-school programs including homework help and parent’s “date night” child care during weeknights.
