Miami Lakes and its Cultural Affairs Committee will host the annual Concert in the Park at 6:30 p.m. on its new groovin’ date, Saturday, January 30, at Picnic Park West, 15151 N.W. 82 Avenue.
The free jazz concert will feature the renowned talent of Electric Piquete, co-founded by Michael Mutt, a long-time town resident. Formed in 2007, Electric Piquete is a Latin funk band known for its Afro-Cuban authenticity and inventive takes on Latin and jazz standards.
The band released a Latin jazz single, a Latin soul single, debuted at the Virginia Key GrassRoots Festival, played Carnaval on the Mile for the sixth straight year, served as the house band at the Miss Carnaval Miami beauty pageant for a fourth time, and had a song placed on a special about Miami on CNN – all in 2015.
Bring blankets, picnic baskets, friends and family for an evening of relaxing music under the stars!
