Fireworks, a Drive-in movie and a Summer Art Project: Town events in July
Miami Lakes will host three events for the public to enjoy during the month of July.

On Saturday, July 4th, the town will hold its 16th
Annual Independence Day Fireworks Celebration.
But because of COVID-19 and to enable social distancing, residents are asked to watch the display from home.
The town will livestream the show that begins at 9 p.m. on the Miami Lakes Facebook and YouTube channels.
Before the rockets are launched, though, residents are asked to send photos of their All-American BBQ
Cookouts.
Tag images on Instagram with @Town_of_Miami_Lakes and #AllAmercianBBQML.
Those who take the best images will receive a $150 package from Sureel Photography, courtesy of the Miami Lakes Cultural Affairs Committee and the town.
A total of six photo package prizes will be offered.

The Friday, July 10, Drive-In Movie showing “Sonic The Hedgehog” at Ana G. Mendez University’s campus in Miami Lakes is sold out.

On Saturday, July 11, The Summer Art Project will be held.
Open to Miami Lakes residents and for participants of all abilities.
Presented by the town and its Special Needs Advisory Board in partnership with Painting with a Twist,
folks who want to tap into their creativity will receive a kit that includes everything needed to make art at home, including a canvas, paint, paint brush and an inspiration sheet.
Artists will want to have a paper plate to mix paint, napkins, a water cup, a table cover and an apron or old clothes, because the paint will stain.
Pick up a kit from from 10 a.m. – Noon at
Painting with a Twist at 15100 NW 67th Ave., Suite 111 in Miami Lakes.
