Girl Scout Troop 263 hosts a 'Glow Party'

Community Monday, April 7, 2014

Just in time to take a break from FCAT reviews, Girl Scout Troop 263 of Miami Lakes invites all girls, scouts and non-scouts, to a Black Light Glow Party on Saturday, April 12, from 6 to 10:30 p.m. at the Roberto Alonso Community Center, 16500 N.W. 87 Avenue.

Troop 263, which hosted the hugely successful Masquerade Ball, has planned a night of fun, games, dancing and glowing surprises in a safe, supervised environment.

The event, open to girls from kindergarten through 12th grade, will feature a live DJ and a contest for "glowiest" individual. All girls are encouraged to wear white and neon colors to stand out. Glow accessories will also be sold at the event.

Girls scouts may enter contests as part of their troop, or as individuals.

There is a $7 fee per girl and $5 fee per adult. Spaces are limited. Registration should be done in advance through Eventbrite linked to the scouts' Facebook page at www.facebook.com/girlscoutsglow.
