The Miami Foundation’s annual Give Miami Day for making donations to area charities includes many non-profit organizations that are in Miami Lakes and nearby communities.
Donors don’t have to wait for the 24-hour giving period on Nov. 17. Early Giving is Nov. 14 - 16.
Gifts may be as small as $25 and are tax-deductible.
The HDS Foundation is participating for the second year in a row, and said that last year it raised more than $40,000 from donations and matching gifts from HDS Companies, money that was used for programming.
The HDS Foundation helps teens and young adults with autism spectrum disorder to obtain high school degrees and transition into jobs and adult life.

And, 100 Black Men of South Florida, Inc.; Boy Scouts of America, South Florida Council; The Women’s Breast & Heart Initiative; Divine Flight Foundation; Friends of South Florida Autism Inc.; Guardians of Human Rights Foundation, Corp.; South Florida Autism Center, Inc. and South Florida Autism Charter Schools, Inc.
The Give Miami Foundation website says that since 2012, it has raised more than $100 million for more than 1,000 non-profits.
