Two service organizations put out the call for donated formal wear and Miami Lakers delivered!

The Giving Gators and the Zonta Club of Miami Lakes co-hosted a prom dress drive that began at the Farmer’s Market on April 11. By the end of the week, the groups had collected more than 280 dresses; shoes, purses and other accessories, Giving Gators said.

The Prom Boutique at Lindsey Hopkins Technical College in Miami accepted the clothing. It welcomes students from high schools across the district who  shop for outfits to wear at their dances, Giving Gators Co-Founder Daylin García said in an email.

García thanked Diego Caiola for giving them space at the Farmer’s Market to accept the donated clothing.
