Goleman badminton team is North District champ

Barbara Goleman retained the title of Badminton District Champion for the second year in a row.
The North District consisted of Barbara Goleman, Hialeah Gardens, Michael Krop, Alonzo and Tracy Mourning and Central Senior High Schools. The Tournament was held at Michael Krop Senior High.
The team played hard and the following players Alyssa Moore (senior) in Girls Singles took first place, Carter Lopez (junior) in Girls Singles took 3rd Place, Carlos Vigo (senior) in Boys Singles took second place, Ricky Ricardo (sophmore) and partner Nicholas Arencibia (sophmore) in Boys Doubles took first place, Joel Fernandes (senior) and partner Anthony Velez (junior) in Boys Doubles took second place and with a good showing in Mixed Doubles was Natalia Lopez (sophmore) and partner Christian Hernandez (sophmore) who took fourth place.
Coach Debbie Perez saod, “Wworking with these students is such a pleasure and that they teach me new things every day. I admire their determination and dedication to the sport”.
The student-athletes went on to represent Barbara Goleman at the GMAC Tournament last month at Braddock Senior High where Alyssa Moore finished the tournament undefeated and finished in first place.
