Hialeah Miami Lakes High School’s JV football team defeated Hialeah Gardens with a winning score of 48-0 on Wednesday, October 9.
Every player on the roster contributed to this victory. Outstanding performances were given by Rayvon Johnson, Mario Molina, Sergio Figueroa, Albert Young and Tyler Moore who all found their way into the end zone. Quarterback Michael Alvarez passed for over 200 yards with 3 touchdowns and no interceptions.
Remey McCall contributed an interception at the end of the game to seal the deal. HML’s boys and girls cross country teams, led by coach Alex Armenteros and coach Michael Turner, also showed true Trojan excellence as the boys came in first out of eleven teams and the girls placed fourth out of eleven teams.
The Lady Trojans volleyball team, led by coach Alex Plaza, defeated American 3-0 as Olivia Napoles had 10 kills, Fatima Madlum had 23 assists and 21 points, Jessy Marquez had 8 kills and Shantall Suarez had 9 kills.
The HML boys swim team, led by coach Victor Quinones, outdid North Miami Beach Senior High with Bryan Hernandez winning first place in the 50 and 100 free style, 200 medley relay, and 200 free relay.
