HML's girl's soccer team enters post-season with 12-3-2 record

HML’s Lady Trojans defeated Miami Edison 4-1 in the final game of the regular season. As the Lady Trojans celebrated their seven graduating seniors, a collective team effort solidified the win after a slow start on January 7. 

Chavelys Leyva and Aspen Arias each scored off of penalty shots, while Noelys Martinez and Samantha Guiettrez finished the offensive explosion in the second half of play. The Trojans finished the regular season with a 12-3-2 record.  

The girls enter the post-season having won their last 5 games building confidence and exemplifying perseverance each step of the way. The District Tournament was held at HML on Tuesday January 12 with two semi-final games.  

The first was Miami Springs playing Alonso and Tracy Morning High School and then HML playing against Barbara Goleman. The two winners from Tuesday's games advanced to the district championship that will be played also at HML on Thursday, January 14 at 7 p.m.
