We will always remember this amazing 11-year-old Breanna Vergara.
Breanna had only danced here since this past August. She was a competitive dancer at Dance Creations Dance Academy since she was 3 years old. She got her dance training from Maria Alonso and her staff for many years until her path led to our doors. We welcomed her with open arms as we welcome all, but had no idea she would change our lives the way she has.
Breanna immediately joined our competition program, as her talents exceeded our expectations. She trained with us and rehearsed with us. She brought something to our studio that, in all honesty, made her stand out from the rest. She lit up the room when she walked in. Her gorgeous light eyes, illuminating smile, and her piercing dimples made everyone fall in love with her.
On Tuesday, December 9, Breanna came to our studios, her second home, and took class like any other day. She danced, and as always, danced with every ounce of her existence. She laughed, fooled around, and did everything she had done with her friends just as she always had. It was a day like any other. She danced until her body could dance no more, and she fought like she always had. Tough until the very end.
As a studio, as dancers, as teachers and parents, we may have lost the visual light that Breanna illuminated when she walked into a room. Breanna was our gift. She came to us to spend her final moments and to dance her last dance with us.
On that Tuesday night, Breanna joined the best studio in the heavens. A studio where she will spend all her time. She will dance among angels and she will shed her light upon us from above.
Her life was one to celebrate and one to inspire all of us, young and younger, to live as she lived and to carry on as a positive light as she was.
I pray that we grow in love as a studio family and we always remember what Breanna stood for and what she now symbolizes and will forever represent to Miami Dancity...Love and Light!
