Michelle Romero, 19, a lifelong Miami Lakes resident and former Miami Lakes Educational Center student, passed away on Monday, April 13, following surgical complications as a result of her autoimmune disorder, Lupus.
Romero was a student at Florida International University majoring in accounting, and was known as a fiery presence. Romero was a former MLEC student and prominent member of the Entrepreneurship strand. She assisted in bringing the school’s DECA Fashion Show to its current glory and helped form the student Credit Union.
Family and friends attended an open casket viewing that was held Friday, April 17, at Vista Memorial Gardens. Romero was adorned in her Snow White Costume complete with a crown, a testament to her love for Disney and tribute to her diva personality.
