In Memoriam: Paul F. Chestnut Sr.

One of the longest serving electrical contractors in the Town of Miami Lakes, Paul F. Chestnut Sr., passed on November 21 at the age of 83.

Chestnut and his company were part of the original development of Miami Lakes by The Graham Companies performing electrical contracts on both residential and commercial properties.

Chestnut was originally from Nassau, came to the United States as a teen, and joined the U.S. Marine Corps at the age of 17.

He spent his retirement years traveling to and from Bimini working in and enjoying the Bahamas.

Chestnut is survived by his wife, Sue; his son, Paul F. Chestnut Jr. and wife Debbie; and his daughters Julie Chestnut, Pauline Rorabaugh and husband Kenny, and Debbie Jadusingh.

He is also survived by his stepchildren Jenise Fitzgereald and Brian Nelson, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers.

Chestnut’s wish was to be cremated and his ashes taken home to Bimini. A Celebration of Life to share stories will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, at Nob Hill Hall, 10400 Sunset Strip in Sunrise, Florida.
