Town of Miami Lakes officials expressed appreciation to the more than 60 local businesses that participated in the recent Health and Fitness Fair and the first ever Community Bike Ride on March 19.
A group of Miami Lakes residents joined Mayor Michael Pizzi on the inaugural bike ride designed to showcase portions of the Town’s Greenways and Trails master plan. “As we build out our greenways and encourage alternative forms of transportation, and in conjunction with Miami-Dade County initiatives, I support any efforts, including cycling, to lower traffic congestion within the town,” Pizzi said.
This summer, the Town will begin implementation of a 1.5-mile-long Greenway Trail and Safe Route to School from Miami Lakes K-8 Center to Miami Lakes Middle School.
