Three high end Italian manufacturers well known and respected in Europe and across the globe, Margraf, Barausse, and Milldue, collaborated on the opening of a satellite office called MBM, the first independent office of its kind apart from distributors, in the heart of Miami Lakes.

Mark Conn, managing agent for the one-of-a-kind location tucked away at 6840 Main Street that is scheduled to open in June, has worked in the marble industry for 20 years. After retiring from the industry and pursuing his passion for ministry work as an ordained pastor, Margraf reached out to Conn to once again be a part of the industry he was so familiar with years ago.

“After they reached out to me, I prayed about it. They made an offer. I said ‘thank you Lord’ and took the offer,” chuckled Conn.

When deciding what location would be best for this satellite office, Conn suggested Miami Lakes instead of the design district, having some familiarity with the area since he grew up in Opa Locka.

“The manufacturers wanted to be in Miami and wanted a Miami zip code but I was opposed to opening an office in the design district because of the congestion,” said Mark. “Being in Miami Lakes is a nice and welcoming area for high end clients and we were fortunate enough to find this office on Main Street.”

Margraf manufactures high end marble products including countertops, tiles, one-of-a-kind creations as well as high end, high quantity production. Margraf has been in business since 1906 and was started by the Morzoto family whose descendants still sit on the board of the company to this day under the direction of CEO Silvio Xompero.

Barausse manufactures high end doors and has been family owned and operated for nearly 50 years. Milldue manufactures high end bathrooms and has been family owned and operated for 40 years. Margraf, Barausse, and Milldue are each individual companies whose craftsmanship is 100 percent Italian-made. The companies’ specialties are high-rise projects and providing high end interior furnishings for the project market.

MBM is a small gem in Miami Lakes for developers, architects, and designers to work on commercial projects. Currently, the office is creating a residential division to specialize in custom made items for homes as well. MBM has projects in Miami and distributors in Florida and nationwide.

Conn is enjoying the ability to return to the industry he retired from while simultaneously running his nondenominational church, The Connection Church which will also make a home in Miami Lakes from its current space in Pembroke Pines.

“This opportunity that I have to open this business in the states is a blessing,” said Conn. “I’m very thankful, fortunate and humbled that they would entrust me to do this and they have really treated me like family, having been very generous and considerate with me.”
