Four students who are from Hialeah and are enrolled at Jose Marti MAST 6-12 Academy, are recipients of full ride scholarships from the Posse Foundation and the QuestBridge Scholars program.
The Posse Foundation awards $250,000 scholarships to attend one of six different schools. It requires the recipients to demonstrate good interpersonal skills and earn high test scores among their accomplishments.
Rachel Aja, 18, and Zoranch Rodriguez, 18, were named Posse Scholars and received scholarships to Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y., according to a release from the high school.
Aja plans to study medicine and Rodriguez plans to study law.
Two other students received QuestBridge Scholarships of up to $350,000, given to applicants from low-income backgrounds.
Shellsea Duarte, 18, won a full ride scholarship to attend Boston University in Boston, Mass. QuestBridge will also cover her enrollment costs,
according to Jose Marti. She plans to study medicine.
Sophia Ruiz, 18, won a QuestBridge Scholarship to attend Colby College in Waterville, Maine where she plans to study medicine.
