The Lawton Chiles Middle School track team, coached by Patricia Ferdinand Julmis, competed for the first time in several meets in recent months, including the Dade County Youth Fair and the
Larry Wooten Invitational, among others.
On the track, Londyn Streeter, Hailey Knudson, Amahrie Florvil, Emely Brito, Tamis Davis and Nathalie Tusell ran in sprint and middle distance events.
In field events, Julia Caraballo showed great improvement in throws despite being new to discus.
