A LGBTQ Pride gathering planned by the Town of Miami Lakes and its Cultural Affairs Committee for June 26th at Shula’s Hotel and Golf Club has been canceled.
The event was not approved by the town council during its meeting on June 8th.
The council didn’t let it go forward “based on the fact that there was no cultural component to the event,” town spokeswoman Clarisell De Cardenas said in an email.

The council approves all events planned by town committees and funds them, too.
