Lights on for safety

   Members of the Miami Lakes town council cut a ribbon to unveil a new crosswalk at Montrose Road near Veterans Park. The crosswalk is one of three in town - the others are on Fairway Drive -- that flash to alert drivers and prompt them to stop when a pedestrian is crossing in front of traffic. 

     Mayor Manny Cid was joined on May 13 by Councilmen Carlos O. Alvarez and Josh Dieguez along with resident Hector Aleman and Gilbert Solis, vice president of Lux Solar, whose company’s safety technology was installed.
