A group of local student-athletes made The Miami Herald All-Dade Teams in football and cross-county.
In football, making the Class 5A-Independent First Team Offense were Dade Christian quarterback Alec Carr (101 of 155 passing attempts, 1,717 passing yards, 21 touchdowns and three rushing touchdowns), and his teammate wide receiver Dewayne Terry (42 receptions, 692 yards and 15 total touchdowns).
Making First-Team Defense honors was Dade Christian defensive back Jordan Coley (53 tackles, 6 interception and fumble recoveries).
Second Team Offense members included Dade Christian running back Mike Hurt and Dade Christian offensive lineman James Gonzalez.
Second Team Defense included Dade Christian defensive lineman Jose “Pepe” Valdivia, and Third Team Offense included Pace senior wide receiver Darius Lockhart.
Third Team Defense included Dade Christian linebackers Brandon Mincey and Tyrik Robinson, and Dade Christian all purpose player Tim McIntosh.
For Class 8A-6A, making First-Team Offense were Mater Academy running back Daniel Doriscar (122 carries, 1,128 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns), and American wide receiver Deandre Conley (18 receptions, 605 yards and seven touchdowns).
Second Team Offense included Mater Academy all purpose player Darius Brown and Second-Team Defense included American defensive back Antoine Webster.
Third Team Offense included Hialeah Miami Lakes running back Malik Shannon, Mater Academy all purpose player T.J. Harrington and Mater Academy kicker Orlando Hayes.
Honorable mentions included Mater Academy players Mali Brown, Latavious Brini, Tre Donastrong and Devonta Lopez.
For Cross-Country, making the girl’s First Team were Mater Academy’s Rahyah Andressohn, who finished with 19:03 as the top time, and Mater Academy’s Jinah Mickens who finished with a time of 19:21.
