Chloe Schwinghammer and Maria Pino have been selected co-captains of the Miami Lakes K-8 Center Cheerleaders for 2013/2014. They are both third-year cheerleaders and have performed together at Disney, at Miami Heat games, town activities and other events.

The girls have been close friends since preschool and participate in more than cheerleading. They have been in Girl Scouting together for nine years in Troop 248. They also participate in acting together, and both are A students and members of their Junior National Honor Society.

The two best friends have other interests as well. Schwinghammer is an artist, involved with her school’s morning news crew, and has twice gone to the Regional Science Fair. Pino is involved in rhythmic gymnastics and is a dancer. The Miami Lakes K-8 Varsity Cheerleaders are under the direction of Noemi Maceo and Pey-Guy Marra.

The co-captains are looking forward to a new competitive year in cheerleading, and both hope to serve on their future high school competitive teams.
