Scout Troop 529B wins trophy at annual competition

     Scouting America Scouts from Troop 529B took home the overall trophy at an annual district competition held at Camp Elmore in Davie in April. To get the prize, the scouts won contests in a tug-of-war; performed first aid; ran a relay race known as the Spartan Race; participated in a knot-tying relay race and a leaky levee game, when they had to repair leaking pipes. They also built a campsite, a gateway (a wooden stick structure); played volleyball; started fires with a stick and string; threw javelins; made troop patrol flags and a display board, threw tomahawks and performed in a skit.
