M-Dade schools receive Diversity Award

The Diversity Recruiter’s Network and University of Phoenix announced recently that Miami-Dade County Public Schools has been named as recipient of the Diversity Spirit Achievement Award.

The Diversity Recruiter’s Network’s Diversity Spirit Achievement Award is a national award program recognizing corporations, individuals, community organizations and media for actively supporting diversity in the community and workplace. The nomination criteria included having the vision, creativity and active promotion of diversity within the ranks of a community or entity at the local and national level.

“We are very pleased with being selected as a recipient of The Diversity Spirit Achievement Award. This latest recognition provides further proof of our firm commitment in promoting diversity and equality of opportunity in education and in all of our District operations,” said Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho of Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
