Miami-Dade County’s Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department’s Winter Break Camps will be held from December 22 through January 2, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with early drop-off available at 7:30 a.m. and late pick-up until 6 p.m. (Camps will be closed on Christmas and New Year’s Day.)
General camp programs will thrill and challenge youngsters, ages 6-14, with a variety of activities from fitness, sports, and arts and crafts, to games and exciting field trips.
Parents are required to register their child for General Program Camps through online registration at www.miamidade.gov/parks.
In northwest Miami-Dade, a General Program Camp will be available at Country Village Park, 6550 N.W. 188 Terrace. Call 305-622-2594 for the weekly cost and more information.
A Junior Golf Camp for ages 8-15 will be available at the Country Club of Miami Golf Course. The camp is taught by PGA professional Larry Levow and the Whole Game Golf School covering golf fundamentals, full-swing and short game instruction for junior golfers, or younger with previous golf experience.
Two sessions will be held from December 22-24, and December 29-31. Camp hours for half-day, 9 a.m. to noon, and full-day from 9 a. m. to 4 p.m. Cost is $155 for the half-day session and $235 for the full-day session. Participants must provide their own lunch.
