M. Lake's first barber, Rolando Ruiz and his wife celebrate 60 years

Rolando and Julia Ruiz celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on April 15. The Miami Lakes pair fell in love and were married in Santa Clara, Cuba in 1956. They have two daughters, Nancy and Myriam, three grandchildren, Jason, Anthony and Natalie, and two great grandchildren, Sierra and Nathaniel (pictured). Rolando was the previous owner of Miami Lakes Barber Shop for close to 50 years and has seen the town of Miami Lakes prosper. The happy couple keeps active with daily two mile walks, gardening and traveling. To honor their 60 years together, a celebratory dinner with family was held and an outing to see a Marlins game.
