Miami Lakes senior citizens are invited to “Celebrate the Fifties” at the Valentine’s Day Senior Sock Hop from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, at the Roberto Alonso Community Center at Royal Oaks Park, 16500 N.W. 87 Avenue.
The free event will feature lunch, door prizes, raffles and lively entertainment. Ladies are encouraged to bring out their poodle skirts or Pink Lady jackets and gentlemen may don their blue jeans and dust off their leather jackets.
Reservations are required to attend by contacting Special Events and Committee coordinator Clarisell De Cardenas at 305-364-6100. Transportation for residents is available by calling at least 48 hours in advance.
