Main Street Merchants and The Graham Companies will host a special exhibit showcasing the winning artwork and special presentations for the overall winners of the 2016 Main Street Banner Art Contest from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, at 6701 Main Street.
With over 200 submissions, only 26 pieces were able to be selected to be showcased on the light poles along Main Street. They will be on display through June so community residents can enjoy the talented works of art by town children.
The overall winners from grades K-5 are Atena Aguero, Stephen Bowles, Linnet Chio, Sophia Fernandez, Megan Garcia, Susanna Inguanzo, Sophia Inguanzo, Christopher Inguanzo, Bellina Milito, Angelina Napoles, Sofia Perez, Onelis Torres-Buela, and Matilda Velazco-Pryce.
The overall winners from grades 6-8 are Hailey Alvarez, Alexandra Batista, Sofia Dubon, Madison Londono, Natalie Martinez, Shayndis Melo, Flovia Nunez Ludeiro, Amanda Saiz, Julian Sarria and Xinyi Xie.
The overall high school winners are Yanai Fraga, Fraco Gomez and Karolina Sanchez.
The Graham Companies expressed its appreciation to Bob Graham Education Center, Miami Lakes K-8 Center, Miami Lakes Middle School, Barbara Goleman High School, American Senior High and Hialeah Miami Lakes Senior High for supporting the art contest with involvement from their art teachers and students.
