‘Maternal Devotion’ is the theme of an art show at Town Hall

  Paintings made by artists in Miami Lakes’ Senior Art Program are on display at Town Hall through June 28.  “Maternal Devotion” is the theme of the show that can be viewed on the first floor of the municipal building. 

   Participating artists are Lilia Ascunce; Maria Borges; Amelia Brand; Yolanda Caldas; Santiago Caldas; Fernando Campo; Juan Carlos Cardenas; Caridad Guerra; Bryan Farinas; Jesus Figueroa; Gabriela Manzitti; Deisy Ortiz; Gail Osteen; Carlos Padron; Dora Deice Palacio; Martha Patrick; Elsa Peton; Brenda Quintero; Lliliam Quintana; Rosa Maria Ravelo and Alicia Russo.

      Pieces “embody the experiences, emotions and connections associated with motherhood,” a release from the town said. Twenty-one artworks reflect different aspects of being a mother and range from animal parents to comfort food. Visitors may enjoy the free show from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday at Miami Lakes Town Hall, 6601 Main St.
