The Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce gathered on Feb. 12 to listen to guest speaker Dr. Gilbert Concepcion.
Concepcion, a cardiologist with Larkin Health System, spoke about heart health, different cardiac symptoms that women may experience compared to men, and surgical procedures.
The audience was made up of about 60 business owners at the Miami Lakes Hotel on Main.
Vice Mayor Bryan Morera and Council members Angelo Cuadra Garcia, Juan Carlos Fernandez and Steven Herzberg were also in the audience.
The chamber has begun elections for a new board of directors, who will be announced in March. Ballots have been sent by email to members.
Office seekers are:
--President: Ray Palacios of First Origin Mortgage Lenders;
--Vice President: Jerry Menendez, TD Bank;
--Treasurer: Rafael Schuck, R&L Schuck - CPAs;
--Membership Chair: Natalee Lima, Hemisphere Title Company and Denise Sainz, Sainz Real Estate.
Also, on March 14 the chamber will host its 2nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament, to benefit local organizations.
It will be held at the Country Club of Miami.
The cost is $700 for a foursome, which covers greens fees, cart fees and includes free beverages and a tournament dinner.
