Miami Lakes K-8 Center (MLK-8) held the attention of the crowd at the American Airlines Arena (AAA) on Wednesday April 2. The school's junior varsity (JV), varsity, and salsa teams performed at the AAA during the Miami Heat-Milwaukee Bucks game.
At half-time the crowd cheered on as the JV cheerleaders danced on the arena floor followed by the varsity squad who leaped and tumbled as the fans roared, whistled and applauded. To close the performance the MLK-8 salsa dancers whirled in harmony to the tune of “Tu Cariñito”.
It was an enjoyable night for all. The kids, led by their sponsor and coaches Pey-Guy Marra, Naomi Maceo, Angel Hernandez, Mario Ortiz and Sailly Hernandez, delivered outstanding performances with heavy applause from their parents and fans.
