  The Miami-Dade County Library branch in Miami Lakes is offering classes for children.

     The library at 6699 Windmill Gate Rd. is open Monday - Thursday, 9:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. - 6 p.m., and closed Sunday.

     Please note that the county plans to close the library sometime in March until fall 2027 while extensive renovations are done. 

Talking is Teaching: Talk, Read, Sing for Babies and Toddlers

Wed., March 4, 11, 18   11 a.m. - 12 p.m.  Hear stories, sing songs, finger play for kids and their caregivers.   Ages 18 mos. - 3

Tai-Chi for Beginners   

Fri., March 13    11 a.m. – 12 p.m.  A library staffer will lead a class of gentle and graceful movements to improve balance, coordination and focus. Wear loose, comfortable clothes.  Ages 19+

Homework Help & Tutoring

Sat., March 7, 14  10 a.m. – 1 p.m.   Certified teachers tutor students in reading, math and science for one-hour sessions. For grades K-12. Classes are free and funded in part by The Children’s Trust.  For more information email tutoring@mdpls.org, call 305-375-1413 or go to www.mdpls.org/tutor.
