The Miami-Dade County Library branch in Miami Lakes is offering classes.  

Most events require preregistration and popular courses may fill up early.  Sign up in advance to avoid being shut out of classes.

The STEMology Club 

Wed., April 17  4 p.m.  – 5 p.m. Explore physical sciences, artificial intelligence, coding, game design and engineering. Experiment and build everything from volcanoes to future cities! Presented by Sports Konnect

Talk Crafty to Me! 

Thurs., April 18 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Make cool crafts and meet other creatives for a project focused on Women’s History Month. Materials provided.  Ages 19+

Homework Help & Tutoring  

Sat, April 20, 27, May 4 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Certified teachers tutor students in reading, math and science for one-hour sessions. For grades K-12. Free and funded in part by The Children’s Trust. For information contact or 305-375-1413.

Spanish Guitar 

Sat., April 20 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. Francisco Valle performs classical and flamenco pieces.All ages.

Talking is Teaching: Talk, Read, Sing for Toddlers en dos idiomas 

Tues., April 23 11 a.m. – Noon Library staff present stories, songs and activities in English and Spanish for toddlers and caregivers. Ages 18 mos. - 3.

Tues., April 23 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. Fun, casual game time. Ages 8 – 18.

Fairy Garden 

Wed., April 24 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. Create your own fairy garden, learn about indoor gardening and get tips. Made possible by the Town of Miami Lakes Education Advisory Board.  Ages 8+

Comic Book Art 

Thurs., April 25 10 a.m.  – Noon. April 25, 2024 is the day when The Central City Citizen newspaper reported DC superhero speedster The Flash went missing! Mark the day in pop culture with crafts and games, while supplies last.

All About that Pace

Fri., April 26 11 a.m. – Noon. Walk in place at your own pace during this low-impact exercise class. Ages 19+

Tai Chi for Beginners

Fri., May 3 11 a.m. – Noon Practice this ancient tradition and learn gentle movements to increase flexibility and balance. Led by library staff. Ages 18+
