 The Miami-Dade County Library branch in Miami Lakes is offering classes.  

 Most events require preregistration and popular courses may fill up early.  Sign up in advance to avoid being shut out of classes.

Teen Library Advisory Committee  Wed., Aug. 14, 21, 28 4 p.m. – 5 p.m.   Earn community service hours, participate in planning and implementing events and provide feedback about books, movies, video games and more. Ages 13 – 19.

 

Talk Crafty to Me!  Thurs., Aug. 15 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.  Make cool crafts and meet other creatives. Materials provided. Registration required, call 305-822-6520.  Ages 19+

 

Adventure Begins with Teen Book Reviews Wed., Aug. 21, 28 4 p.m. – 5 p.m.  Read a book and write a review to be featured in the library’s online catalog. Earn four hours of community service. For more information call 305-822-6520. Ages 13 – 18.

 

All About That Pace Cardio Workout  Fri., Aug. 23  11 a.m. – Noon.  Join a low-impact cardio workout, walk in place and move at your own pace.  Ages 19+

 

Talking is Teaching: Talk, Read, Sing for toddlers en dos idiomas  Tues., Aug. 27  11 a.m. – Noon. Toddlers and caregivers will hear stories, sing songs and enjoy activities in both English and Spanish. Registration required, call 305-822-6520.  Ages 18 mos. – 3

The library at 6699 Windmill Gate Rd. is open Monday - Thursday, 9:30 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. Closed Sunday and Monday, Sept. 2, which is Labor Day.
