Miami Lakes Veterans Committee is accepting nominations for grand marshal of the parade

The Miami Lakes Veterans Committee is seeking nominations for its grand marshal for the 45th annual Veterans Day Parade.

Veterans from all branches and wars may be nominated to lead the parade on Nov. 3.

Requirements to nominate a grand marshal are proof of honorable service in the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force or Coast Guard; must be a resident in good standing in the community; have displayed outstanding service, pride and commitment to the community, county, state and/or country and the nominees should be able to carry out the function of the role of grand marshal.

The Miami Lakes Veterans Day Parade, the oldest such parade in Miami-Dade County, will be held on Nov. 3. Marchers will step off at 10 a.m. from 6720 NW 67th Ave. and travel through the heart of downtown Miami Lakes. The parade will end at noon with a public ceremony at Miami Lakes Town Hall, 6601 Main St.
