Retired U.S. Army Sgt. Larry S. Borman and retired Lance Cpl.
Alejandro Melorabi, who served in the U.S. Marine Corps, have received Congressional Veteran Commendations.
Both men are from Miami Lakes and belong to the American Legion.
They were among seven veterans who live in Florida’s District 25 and were recognized Nov. 11 by U.S. Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, R-Miami.
The veterans were honored for their wartime sacrifices and for their community service at home.
Their recollections of war experiences will be added to the Veterans History Project sponsored by the Library of Congress, Diaz-Balart’s office said.
Borman and Melorabi each received numerous medals and commendations during their military service.
Stateside, Borman did a traffic study for a veterans parade while Melorabi volunteers to distribute food in town.
