Drivers entering Miami Lakes from the City of Hialeah are greeted by a new welcome sign on the east side of Northwest 67 Avenue. It’s located just north of the Gratigny Parkway underpass.

The sign and installation cost $22,000, slightly under the estimate, the town said. It was unveiled during rain showers on Nov. 14. The town council approved the project on Aug. 8 as part of the beautification master plan, said Jeremy Bajdaun, director of parks and recreation. Still to come are lighting and landscaping.

The Lake Patricia Shopping Center is just to the north of the installation.

The sign was designed by Multiple Media Network, Inc. dba Best Sign Monuments in Gainesville.
