Miami Lakes Veterans Committee is inviting residents to join in the annual Tree Planting Ceremony taking place at 6 p.m. on Arbor Day, Friday, April 29, at Picnic Park West, 15151 N.W. 82 Avenue.
The annual celebration of Miami Lakes’ trees is free and open to the public. Activities are suitable for all ages including the tree planting, information and educational materials for residents, and tree care demonstrations by the Town’s arborist.
Miami Lakes continues to be recognized for its abundant tree canopy as well as its exceptional tree management practices with both the Tree City USA Certification (8 consecutive years), and the Growth Award (6 consecutive years). The designations are awarded to cities/towns for their excellence in urban forestry management.
