Miami Lakes Educational Center’s (MLEC) journalism strand in the Cambridge Academy annually presents capstone projects that are completely student-led. Neyda Borges, English Department chair and Journalism advisor, assembled a group of judges from media-related backgrounds to rate the projects for constructive feedback for the presenting students.

During one day of presentations, Laura Gonzalez presented Le’Mode, a fashion magazine for teenagers that aims to provide stimulating and quality content while taking into consideration budget restrictions of its audience.

Rosaly Casanueva presented a coffee table photography book, the first of its kind for a Capstone project, with images from New York City.

Finally, Klassike, a classical music magazine was presented by Salwa Raza and Rachel Rhoh as a way to rejuvenate the classical music community for young musicians.

Additionally, Sana Chaudhry, Amanda Delgado, Julissa Higgins, Alejandra Mendoza, Ruth Reyes, and Carina Vo each presented their final projects for the year.
