Miami Lakes Educational Center & Technical College hosted its annual Advance Placement (AP) Curriculum Review earlier this year. The school suspended its weekly Saturday tutoring to hold this event where teachers take their time to come out and dedicate a few hours to teaching selected students with information and tips on the various AP Exams.
This year, 43 buses brought approximately 995 students from throughout Miami-Dade County to MLEC for this special event. This is the first of two AP Reviews that will be hosted by MLEC & Tech College.
The school also hosts the Title One Chess Club, Professional Studies for Teachers, and provides a free tutoring service for its students in various subjects such as reading, EOC, history, math, and more every Saturday morning. Teachers make themselves available for students to ask questions about the curriculum and together review the material.
