The Education Advisory Board is accepting nominations for the 2026 Awards of Excellence, presented each year to honor outstanding students and educators for contributions to their schools and community.
The Awards recognize exceptional dedication, leadership and service by individuals who embody excellence, integrity, and commitment and who inspire their peers and mentors.
Student Award categories are for Athletics; Business; Community Hero; English and Literature; Fine Arts; Journalism; Local Advocacy; Science; Mathematics and Digital Arts/Media.
Educators may be nominated for Teacher of the Year.
Students must be in fifth, eighth or 12th grades and live in Miami Lakes, or attend or a school in town.
Educators should work at a school in town. Nominations must be submitted by March 2.
